In early 2010 Chris Carrell and Jamie Nollette approached several people from the construction industry including Jeff Emmons, the President of Immedia, and asked if they were interested in helping to create an industry based fund raiser for a not-for-profit they co-founded called Pipeline Worldwide.  Chris and Jamie had traveled to Uganda with an organization called Hope 4 Kids a few years earlier and both recognized the extreme poverty and the incredible need for help, so they decided to team up and  make the world a little better place.

By utilizing the relationships of several industry veterans, including Immedia, the first Borderline “Getting Well Connected” event was held at the Henkel headquarters and over 400 commercial real estate and construction industry professionals attended.  Through donations and an auction, the event raised more than $45,000 dollars.  As a result of the event, Pipeline Worldwide was able to donate 4 wells.  The second Borderline event was held at Stand-Up-Live at CityScape in downtown Phoenix and was even more successful than the inaugural event.  During the second year, Pipeline Worldwide was able to raise more than $55,000 and donate 5 additional water wells to Hope 4 Kids.

At the culmination of the Stand-up-Live event, Chris and Jamie offered up the opportunity to join them at the well dedications in Uganda.  In November 2011, Jeff Emmons the President of Immedia, Josh Sugidono the President of Wholesale Floors, Ralph Kaiser the Owner of Kaiser Tile, Chris Carrell and Jamie Nollette all traveled to Uganda for the dedications.

The photos and story from our trip to Uganda cannot possibly illustrate the value of the clean water wells that have been drilled thanks to the Borderline events and Pipeline Worldwide. The wells have helped to bring fresh water to more than 50,000 Africans and to provide the first step in eliminating extreme poverty in these remote African villages.  With a child mortality rate in excess of 56%, from birth to age 5, fresh water is guaranteed to save a few lives and make their world a little better place to live.

Jeff and the entire staff at Immedia are happy to be involved with this organization. Please click on the link to your left entitled “Uganda Trip” and enjoy the photos we put together to help tell the story of our African journey. We hope you are as moved as we were.
