• Functional Design – Every room has its own particular characteristics, including outside light sources, ceiling heights, wall construction, insulation, dead spots and sound leaks.  The dimensions of a room and the construction are the foundation of a well designed theater.
• Acoustics – The functional design and the aesthetic design of your theater will determine the acoustics of the room.  A well designed theater will have a limited amount of hard reflective surfaces and acoustic treatments will be applied to ensure a great sounding room.
• Aesthetic Design – The Aesthetic design is the component that makes a theater look like a theater.  Lighting control, drapery, seating and wall coverings are just a few of the elements that come together to create the look and feel of a real theater.  It is important that the a/v components are integrated into the aesthetic design prior to construction to ensure a quality product is created.
• Equipment – The selection of equipment is typically dictated by budget, with a significant portion going to the sound system and video display system.  Although, it is important to include a control system in the budget to ensure that everyone can easily interact with the theater.
